Training Workshop on Rules of Procedures of Balochistan Assembly
In October 2017, a successful four-day capacity building and training workshop was held for the Secretariat officials of the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan. The purpose of the workshop was to sensitize the Assembly Secretariat staff about the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business of the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan.
Discussion sessions focused on streamlining the operations of the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan in accordance with the ‘Provincial Assembly of Balochistan – Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business 1974’. Mr. Inayatullah Lak, Director General Parliamentary Affairs and Research, Provincial Assembly of Punjab, delivered the workshop. Mr. Lak spoke on the constitutional provisions governing the operations and current parliamentary practices of other Provincial Assemblies at work. The range of themes discussed were: Constitution of 1973, Legislation, Government Bills, Resolutions and Amendments to the Rules of Procedure, Committee System and types of committees, Budget, etc.
A total of 20 officials from the Assembly Secretariat attended the workshop. The Deputy Secretaries, Under Secretaries, Research Officer, Librarian, Law Officer, Assistant Secretary, Coordination Assistants, Media Reporters, Superintendents, Assistant Private Secretary and clerical of the Secretariat were among the participants. The workshop also provided the opportunity for participants to share their knowledge of the Rules of Procedures and best practices in successfully implementing them.
