Introduction to the 1st Cohort of Young Parliamentary Associates 2017-2018

Amjad Ali

Amjad Ali has completed his Masters in Political Science from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. He has been working as a Young Parliamentary Associate (YPA) in Provincial Assembly of Sindh since July 2017. He is assisting the Committee on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Women Parliamentary Caucus (WPC). Apart from this, he is actively working on ideas like establishment of a Complaint Cell within the Sindh Women’s Parliamentary Caucus, Sindh Emergency Services Bill and other public engagement initiatives at the Sindh Assembly.

 

Daniya Rana

Daniya Rana is pursuing her MS from the Institute of Business Administration, (IBA) Karachi. She has been working as a Young Parliamentary Associate (YPA) at Provincial Assembly of Sindh since July 2017. She is conducting research related assignments with a core focus on gender for the Women Parliamentary Caucus (WPC), Sindh Assembly Secretariat.

 

 

Muhammad Zohaib Khan

Mohammad Zohaib Khan has completed his MBA Finance from the University of Karachi with the distinction of a Gold Medal. He has been working as a Young Parliamentary Associate (YPA) in the Provincial Assembly of Sindh since August 2017. Currently, he is working on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) themes and carrying out research on Education topics in Sindh Province. Moreover, he is assisting the Honourable MPAs in drafting Calling Attentions Notices, Amendments to Rules/Bills/Acts and Resolutions.

 

 

Naina Rani

Naina Rani is pursuing her post-graduation studies from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) and completed a BBA (Hons) from SZABIST Karachi.  She has been working as a Young Parliamentary Associate (YPA) in the Provincial Assembly of Sindh since July 2017. She is deployed in the Committee Branch and assisting MPAs on proposing and drafting Amendments to Private Member Bills. She is also carrying out assignments related to comprehensive research on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

 

 

Rashid Ali

Rashid Ali has post graduated from Punjab University in Political Science. He has been working as a Young Parliamentary Associate (YPA) in Provincial Assembly of Sindh since July 2017. He is deployed at the research wing of the Sindh Assembly Secretariat and assisting the honourable MPAs to propose and draft amendments in private member bills.

 

 

Sarwat Batool

Sarwat Batool has completed her Masters in International Relations from the University of Karachi and pursuing her MPhil degree in the same discipline. She has been working as a Young Parliamentary Associate (YPA) in the Provincial Assembly of Sindh since July 2017 and working within the Legislation Department. Her primary task is to assist Honourable MPAs in drafting legislation.

 

 

Sobia Mansoor

Sobia Mansoor has completed her BBA (Hons) from Bahria University Islamabad. She has been working as a Young Parliamentary Associate (YPA) in the Provincial Assembly of Sindh since July 2017.  She is currently engaged with the Women Parliamentary Caucus (WPC) and undertaking a range of research based assignments for the WPC Members. She also assists the Honourable Deputy Speaker through provision of requested research briefs.

 

Tauqeer Ahmed

Tauqeer Ahmed completed his Master Political Science from Government College University Lahore. He has been working as a Young Parliamentary Associate (YPA) in the Provincial Assembly of Sindh since July 2017. He is deployed in the Question Branch of the Assembly. He is assisting the Honourable MPAs by conducting research to draft different Calling Attention Notices, Resolutions, Questions and Bills.

 

 

Taha Zaheer

Taha Zaheer has graduated from the University of Karachi in International Relations. He has been working as a Young Parliamentary Associate (YPA) in the Provincial Assembly of Sindh since July 2017. He is assisting the Additional Secretary Chamber while on the side-lines he is also providing support to the Provincial Parliamentary Task Force on Sustainable Development Goals and the Standing Committee on Forest, Wildlife and Environment.
