Introduction to the 2nd Cohort of Young Parliamentary Associates 2018-2019

AHSAN ZAHEER

Ahsan Zaheer is a graduate of Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) with majors in Economics. He is currently working as a Young Parliamentary Associate (YPA) at the Punjab Assembly. His role is to provide research and administrative assistance to the Standing Committees Department. 

  JAUHAR SAEED KHAN

Jauhar Saeed Khan has completed his Master of Business Administration from Lahore School of Economics (LSE) with specialisation in Marketing and Finance. He has been working as a Young Parliamentary Associate (YPA) in the Provincial Assembly of Punjab since July 2017 and reports to Assistant Secretary Public Accounts Committee (PAC II). He is providing a variety of assistance to two Public Accounts Committees related to research, analysis, minute taking and report writing.

  NADEEM AKRAM

Muhammad Nadeem Akram holds a Master degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Punjab. He was awarded roll of honour for his extraordinary academic performance at his university. He has a very diverse experience in life ranging from teaching to HR generalist and Sales Trainer. Under the YPA programme 2018, he is associated with standing committees at the provincial assembly of Punjab.

  SAHER RASHEED

Saher Rasheed has completed her Bachelors in Business and Information Technology with Finance Major and pursuing her Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Punjab. She has been working with Provincial Assembly of Punjab since November 2018 in Research Department. Her tasks involve assisting Research Officer in developing Biography of Members and Summary Proceedings.

  SHEIKH MUHAMMAD TAUHA

Sheikh Muhammad Tauha Faheem has secured Gold Medal in Intermediate from Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education, Multan and completed his Bachelors in Law with distinction from Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan in 2017. He is currently pursuing his degree of Masters in Law (LL.M) from International Islamic University, Islamabad. He has experience of working as Associate Attorney in Multan. He also served as Law Intern in Supreme Court of Pakistan. He has been working as YPA in Provincial Assembly of Punjab since November 2018. He is currently deployed with the Department of Legislation, Parliamentary Affairs & Research and assigned to Member Support Service in drafting legislative tools and reviewing delegated legislation.

  SUMAIRA ZIA

Sumaira Zia graduated from GC. University, Lahore in with a major in Political Science. She was an exchange student to Troy University, America under UGRAD program. Also, she accomplished an internship in Turkey under a Turkish Government’s program. She is currently working as a Youth Parliamentary Associate at the provincial assembly of Punjab since November 2018. Her assignment is to find Rules of Chair and other important events of Punjab Assembly from 1897 to 1946.

  SYED ZEESHAN ABID

Syed Zeeshan Abid belongs to District Chiniot of Punjab, Pakistan. He has completed his Masters in Political Science from Forman Christian College University, Lahore in 2016. Before joining as YPA Punjab, he had the experience of one year working with Punjab Assembly as an intern under Prime Ministers National Internship Program. Currently, he is working with Speakers office at Punjab Assembly and has twice prepared talking points for Honourable Speaker Chaudhry Pervez Elahi in a short tenure of three weeks.

  RANA UNEEB MUMTAZ

Rana Uneeb Mumtaz Ahmad graduated from The University of Lahore with an Honors Degree in Law and a Masters in International Relations from The University of Punjab, Lahore.  He has been working as a Young Parliamentary Associate (YPA) in the Provincial Assembly of Punjab since November 2018. He is reporting to the Deputy Secretary Legislation. His role is to assist honourable MPAs in drafting legislation and to review laws passed and adopted by the assembly. He’s currently compiling an alphabetical catalogue of All Punjab Laws from 1860 to 2018.
