Senior Expert Governance Policy and Advocacy

Mr. Muhammad Abbas Khan is a Senior Expert Governance, Policy and Advocacy with an experience of over 18 years at the national and international levels working with governance teams, support to the parliamentary institutions, linking up academia, parliament, industry, civil society and international development partners to avoid duplication and strengthen areas of intervention, governance mechanisms and sustainable policies for providing a better future to the beneficiaries. He is currently associated with European Union funded project as Lead Provincial Coordinator Khyber Pakhtunkhwa implemented by the Palladium Group. During his current role, he has been able to ensure that all stakeholders are taken on board, including the Speaker, Honourable Members, Secretariat officials, Civil Society organisations, development partners and media. His efforts have been widely praised by the Honourable Speaker, Honourable Members and Secretary Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In the area of Project Development and Management Abbas Khan has demonstrated success with donor coordination can be witnessed from the development of Strategic Partnership Development Framework developed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with his efforts, which was a door opener for all development partners to approach the policy makers directly which benefitted the programmes and projects at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. His successful interventions have provided a platform for a USAID Project on energy, where he worked as a Director Coordination, to declare the project a think tank by the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He has been advisor to the Speaker and Coordinator Donors Coordination Cell at the Chief Minister Secretariat.

He has worked with different development partners including GIZ, DFID, EU, USAID, SDC, and government departments leading teams with successful implementation record. He is widely regarded as a trusted and capable advisor by the highest ranks at policy level, parliamentary support, governance systems, coordination, communication and bridging gaps for sustainable development. His work has been recognised and acknowledged by the Government and development sector by awarding him awards and shields in different fields of work in his experience.
