Introduction to the 1st Cohort of Young Parliamentary Associates 2017-2018

Amar Ali Khan

Amar Ali Khan has a BS Degree in Electrical Engineering from UET Peshawar and a Master’s degree in Innovative Technologies in Education from NUST, Islamabad. He has worked an Instructional Designer for two years in a DFID/UKAID funded project. He has been working as Young Parliamentary Associate (YPA) in the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since July 2017. He is currently engaged with the Parliamentary Taskforce Committee on SDGs and facilitates the committee through research briefs and coordination among government departments relevant to the SDGs themes.

 

Muhammad Ilyas

Muhammad Ilyas has completed a Masters in International Relations from Quaid e Azam University Islamabad and holds a diploma in Conflict and Conflict Resolution through the Global campus program in collaboration with Tokyo University, Japan. He has been working as Young Parliamentary (YPA) in the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since July 2017. He is deployed within the Legislation wing and assigned to prepare minutes, working papers and research reports for the Secretariat and Honourable Members.

 

Naveed Aman

Naveed Aman completed aBBA from Institute of Management Sciences, University of Peshawar. He has been working as Young Parliamentary Associate (YPA) in the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since July 2017. He is engaged with the Speaker’s Office and assisting that Office in preparing agendas of future meetings, drafting minutes of the meetings and coordination with the relevant Provincial departments. He is also working with the Parliamentary Task Force on Sustainable Development Goals, assisting Members of the SDGs Task Force.

 

Rehman Saleem

Rehman Saleem graduated in International Relations from Iqra University, Islamabad. He has been working as Young Parliamentary Associate (YPA) in the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since July 2017.  He is deployed in the Research wing of the Assembly where he is working on the compilation of the Assembly’s five year progress report. In addition he is also assisting the Secretariat to coordinate the liaison and engagement with the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association.

 

Sara Syed

Sara Syed has graduated in Public Administration from the National University of Science and Technology, Islamabad. She has been working as Young Parliamentary Associate (YPA) in the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since July 2017.  She is deployed within the Research & Library department where she is assisting Committee Members with research related assignments and drafting minutes/letters etc.

 

 

Shandana

Shandana has secured an M.Phil. in Human Resource Management from the Institute of Management, University of Peshawar. She has been working as Young Parliamentary Associate (YPA) in the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since July 2017. She reports to the Secretary to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Assembly and assists in the administration department. Apart from office assistance in terms of HR capacity building she carries out research assignments for the Secretariat and Honourable Members as and when requested.

 

Syeda Badree Saba

Syeda Badre Saba has a distinction of a Gold Medal in BS Economics from Islamia College University Peshawar and undertaking an MS Economics from the Institute of Management Sciences. She has been working as Young Parliamentary Associate (YPA) in the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since July 2017. Currently she is engaged with the Women Parliamentary Caucus (WPC) and is responsible for the preparation of briefs, taking notes, agendas and letters to facilitate the WPC Members.

 

Syed Muhammad Fawad Ali

Fawad Ali has Master’s degree in Economics and specialized in economic data analysis, frameworks and ICT related skills. He has been working as Young Parliamentary Associate (YPA) in the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since July 2017. He is working with the Public Accounts Committee and IT department of KP Assembly and assisting the Secretariat in the development of an e-Governance PAC module which is part of the wider automation project in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly.

 

Tahir Ud Din

Tahir Ud Din is pursuing his Master’s in Development Studies from Institute of Management Sciences Peshawar. He has two years of professional development sector experiences. He has been working as Young Parliamentary Associate (YPA) in the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since July 2017. He is currently engaged with the Parliamentary Taskforce Committee on SDGs and facilitates the committee through development of research briefs and coordination among the government departments relevant to SDGs themes.

 

Haseeb Hassan

Haseeb Hassan has pursued a Masters in International Relations from Quaid e Azam University Islamabad. He has been working as Young Parliamentary Associate (YPA) in the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since February 2018. He has emerged from the reserve list of YPAs after one of the original Cohort dropped out. He is working with the Parliamentary Taskforce Committee on SDGs and facilitating the task force through development of research briefs and coordination among the government departments relevant to the SDGs themes.
